In a book, 'Annan Now & Then', Alex Blaylock tells us that when the new access to Port Street and Carlyle's Place was constructed in 1994 shops at Numbers 11, 13, 17 & 19 had to be demolished. The new road extension opened in 1995.
An early photo of Bridge House shows some of the shops that were later demolished.
