Memories: "The Co-op was a large building comprising of a grocery store, greengrocer, butcher, ladies& gents outfitters and the Co-op bank upstairs. Nan Garroway and Miss Carey worked there.
As well as shops here, they had shops in Church St., Millpark, Eastriggs, and Eaglesfield. They also had 2 travelling shops, coal and milk deliveries and a bakery in Moat Road! I remember Mr. Wilson, Mr Darroch, Mr Drummond and Mr Walter Cowan being managers of the Co-op at different times.
