We believe Caledonian House was originally 117-119.
The building (Number 117-119) is a Category B Listed Building. Category B means it is of regional importance.
The listing says ' Earlier/mid 19th century... late 19th century shop front fills entire ground floor... 2 storeys, 3 bays...shop front has timbered pilasters, paired at the ends and ... shop windows with paired arched lights... with leaded panels over. First floor sashes with 12-pane glazing..'

Memories: Isa Stark would always greet you with a smile when you went in.

Memories: We got all our shoes at Laing's I was always in awe of the floor to ceiling towers of shoe boxes. I especially liked getting new summer sandals with shiny buckles and their thick white soles.

1982 R Ferguson. Valuation Rolls say the Proprietor is still M Ash (trading as J&J Laing) so we are presuming R Ferguson is doing the same.

1989 Annandale Insurance Brokers & Financial Services
Annandale Insurance were in Number 115 (from about 1978) but by about 1989 have converted 115 & 117 into one shop.
