1900 No specific mention in Valuation Rolls when there were houses here with a courtyard behind but the courtyard was known as Scambler's Court
D Scaife had petrol pumps and garage on Butts Street and at the back of these houses.
It is not until 1940 that Valuation Rolls mention the High Street address
where Scaife had 'Garages, Petrol pumps, Showroom and Offices'
