Memory: My great grandmother was born in Langholm in 1851. Her name was Agnes Carruthers and in 1870 she married Thomas Frood (compositor). He died in 1887 and in 1892 she then married Frank Bell (postmaster at Queensberry Hotel). After his death she continued to run the business until her death in 1928.
