1900 Fish Cross and Commercial Inn

1950s Queen of the Border Guide

Mystery:   The numbers of the units around the Commercial can get a bit confusing.

In 1907 The Commercial Inn is Number 128 and still is !! But there is then mention of a Bothy, Stables & Yard also at Number 128. Numbers 130 and 132 were shops.

A close look at the old photos above would suggest Number 130 was demolished to make the entrance to the Garage/Yard wider?

Valuation Rolls for 1907 have James Johnstone Saddler and for 1923 Robert Graham is the tenant without mention of his trade.
