In 1998 TM Retail acquired John Menzies.
This led the way for WH Smith's retail expansion into Scotland. Before the takeover Menzies' had a very similar range of goods to WH Smith and were more dominant in Scotland.

2023 27th Oct Morrisons Daily. Morrisons took over McColls shops in 2022 with plans to turn them into their smaller Daily outlets. We saw one of the first being refurbished in Wester Ross in October 2022 and wondered how long it would be before Annan's store changed.
